Portico Publication License Agreement
The Publication License Agreement provides participating publishers with
the terms and conditions for the deposit of their electronic journal content
in the Portico archive as well as those established for the access of the
journals by participating libraries. The license was created with input
from the publisher and library communities.
Highlights of the Publication License Agreement
- The license is a non-exclusive agreement that gives Portico the right to ingest, normalize, archive, and migrate a participating publisher's content.
- Trigger events that precipitate access to the archive by participating libraries are described in the license agreement.
- The process through which participating publishers will submit their electronic files to Portico are outlined in the license agreement.
- There is a rider to the agreement that a participating publisher signs if they choose to name Portico as a mechanism to fill post-cancellation access claims submitted by participating libraries.
Note: Earlier versions of the Publication License Agreement are available for review.
